About RunDog

I'm Lorna, founder of RunDog, a dog running business based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.  RunDog was the perfect way for me to combine my love of dogs and my passion for running.  RunDogs mission is to give your dog an athletic treat whilst keeping them both physically and mentally stimulated.

As the owner of two energetic dogs myself - Aggie and Isla - I have extensive knowledge of the best local trails to visit and plenty of experience of managing dogs through trail terrain.   Our runs will develop your dogs physical stamina whilst keeping them mentally alert. Best of all, no two runs are ever the same!

How does RunDog work?

1. Meet and Greet
We arrange a convenient time to meet & greet at your home.  Whilst your dog gets to know their new running companion, we can discuss everything RunDog in a relaxed environment whilst completing the paperwork which includes details of your veterinary practice & dog insurance.  We will agree your preferred home collection procedure and if you would like your dog run off-lead, we can agree their recall command.  The Meet & Greet session is free of charge and with no obligation.

2. The First Run
For our first run we will head to the local countryside and start building on our new running relationship.  Each run starts with a gentle explore of the area and then we head out further to discover different terrains and experiences for your dog to enjoy.

3. RunDog Buddy
Our runs are planned around the changing seasons and different locations will be introduced accordingly. We head to the Bluebell woods in Spring, run alongside the wild meadows and wheat fields with the reward of a cooling dip in the Rivers Ver or Lea in the summer. The local woods provide plenty of Autumnal coloured leaves & the long dew grasses in Heartwood prove great fun to run through in Autumn.  The frost laid trails throughout the countryside provide a great playground in Winter and if we get snow then we are guaranteed a real adventure!

4. Home Time
We always finish our runs with a drink of water and small dog treat.  A warm wash is available for dogs who embraced the muddy trails or found the fox poo! Once returned home you will receive a Strava map of your dog's route, along with photos and description of their running experience.
